ART AS MEDICINE
Offering
moments of non-harming
We dance in the name of goodness
In compassion for all beings
To free ourselves
In generous sharing
There is a great deal
that we can do for ourselves
and for each other
These are the times to
recognize our interdependence
and hear that great something that is calling us

Butoh: Receptivity and
the Nervous System
With guest teacher
This work focuses on relaxation techniques and the parasympathetic nervous system, supported by the technique of Noguchi Taiso or Noguchi Gymnastics, the foundation of Butoh.
Professor Noguchi developed this release technique between the 1950’s and 1970’s in Japan, in search of a method “devoid of ego or violence”.
We can also understand Butoh is born from exchange and communal work. Because Butoh is not about “showing,” it is also not about judging what we’ve been shown.
We will end with the presentation of a choreography made by the participants (optional participation), directed by Vangeline.
Latinx 250 USD
International 300 USD
